CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE

Prior to Arrival
It is essential for the good health and safety of our stallions and all visiting
mares that the following instructions are observed. Each mare should undergo
a veterinary check before being presented at stud. They need to have a C.E.M. swab an endometrial swab and an E.V.A. blood test. These certificates must be produced on arrival in order for your mare to be accepted and unloaded. All mares must be wormed 48 hours before travelling and both hind shoes removed. It is advisable for you to check your mare to establish her cycle so that she can be presented to the stud just prior to coming into her next season. You can then confirm your arrival date and time with us. This is also the time for you to declare any special requests that you may have with regard to the keep of your horse so that we have time to accommodate you if possible.

On Arrival
Your veterinary certificates will be checked and your mare unloaded into
a small paddock until she can be safely introduced into a field with others.
Your mare will be wormed at regular intervals, the farrier called if necessary
and you will be charged accordingly. All mare must arrive with their head collar and passport.

The Covering Procedure
Your mare will be introduced to your chosen stallion over a teasing fence to
safely confirm when she is ready to accept him. Covering will then take place
and be repeated as required. Your mare will remain at grass until a veterinary
scan confirms pregnancy or not at around three weeks later. In the event that
your mare is unsuccessful, you will be consulted about the next possible steps.
If, despite further attempts, your mare is not confirmed in foal by the end of July,
covering may be started again in April of the following year. Return service for mares is on the strict understanding that the stud is informed within three months of the first service that the mare is not in foal. In respect of stallions that are promoted with a free return, if the chosen stallion is no longer available an alternative stallion will be offered.

On Departure
You will have been informed of the result of the scan and your mare can be
collected at an agreed time. Your stud fee, grass keep and scan must be paid
for in full prior to leaving, together with any vets fees if applicable. Payment by cash, electronic transfer or cheque if cleared prior to collection only. Visiting mares and/or foals may not be removed from the stud until all accounts have been settled. V.A.T. will be charged at current rates where applicable.

Responsibilities
Since this whole process is not without risk, this nomination form when signed by you gives Acton Hall Stables full authority to instruct our vets to attend to your mare in the event of an accident, illness or injury under any circumstances that may occur. Veterinary charges will be met initially by the stud, then added to your tariff and must be settled in full prior to the departure of your horse. Every care will be taken with your mare but no liability can be accepted for any possible injury sustained nor do we accept any responsibility for charges incurred as a result. Mare owners are expected to arrange their own insurance for their mares for the duration of their stay.

FROZEN SEMEN FOR THE UK

Frozen Semen is now available for the UK for 2006. Seamus has visited Genus for collection and testing to have his semen frozen and available to mare owners in the UK. Dependant upon demand we may need to collect more so please try to help us help you by contacting us as soon as possible as enquiries taken later may lead to disappointment. Please contact us at hotspurs@actonhallstables.co.uk

Due to the significant costs involved in transporting, preparing and processing the stallions at the Genus collection centre, together with the substantial semen testing, freezing and distribution costs, it is necessary for Acton Hall Stables to retain only 50% of the fees in the unlikely event that your mare is verified by your veterinary surgeon not to have become pregnant by 1st October 2006.
