Fiona and Seamus had an excellent day at the finals at Keysoe in Bedfordshire. Putting in an amazing performance for a veteran horse and pipped only by smaller ponies at the latter stages of the championships. We were all delighted to achieve so much with him at this autumn stage in his life and the comments and feedback that Fiona received from the judges was extraordinarily generous.

Seamus has definitely retired from showing after this latest success. There has never been another like him and the urgency now is to breed a replacement to match his stature and his daughter Shamrock has started promisingly.

Fiona brought Seamus out of retirement to qualify again for the finals after a four year absence from these championships to check out his credentials as an 18 year old. Against the current crop of contenders for a top title Seamus qualified as follows.

1st PLACE & CHAMPION - IN HAND TRADITIONAL HORSE 2002

The qualifier took place at Bishop Burton College at Beverley in Yorkshire.



Seamus ridden by Fiona Murray won the 'Champion Traditional Horse' silver plate and sash at the Golden Jubilee Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead 2002. Seamus and Fiona qualified for this prestigious show at a qualifying event in Beverley, Yorkshire. This was his first major show since being graded in 2001 and we are justifiably proud of this top award in his first major championship this season.



Seamus and Fiona had one of his best showing days winning TEN Rosettes in one day against strong competitiion at the qualifiers at Beverley in Yorkshire.
He was judged:

In addition to being declared 'CHAMPION', he had six other first places and two placings, in both in-hand and ridden sections, in a very memorable and successful day. He now moves on to Buckinghamshire where he has qualified and entered for six finals in the World Championships of colour.





Seamus and Fiona had a truly outstanding show winning 12 rosettes over the
2 day finals against the best coloured horses in the country at the finals at the Addington Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire.

In the breeding showcase has was judged:
CHAMPION GRADED STALLION OF THE YEAR 2002.

BEST TRADITIONAL IN HAND HORSE - Placed 2nd.
BEST TRADITIONAL RIDDEN HORSE - Placed 2nd.

The competition was extremely strong as it always is for stallions that compete with impeccably behaved mares and geldings in the same event.


Seamus ridden by Fiona Murray won the honour of being the Champion Stallion of the British Skewbald and Piebald Association for being the highest scoring Stallion at Moulton College Grading 2001. This was an important day as no Stallion nowadays can have a showing career until his grading has first been attained.
